# Cadences and roles

> Pick how Home reads your day: a cadence sets the yardstick, a role sets the order.

## Overview

Two dials shape Home. Your role decides which sections show and in what order. Your cadence decides what leads and what today is graded against. Home always shows today; a cadence changes the yardstick, not the day.

## How it works

**1. Open the setup menu**

On Home, select the label in the page header, for example **Optimize • Daily check**.

**2. Pick a cadence**

Open **Cadence** and pick one. Hover the info icon beside each to read what it does.

**3. Pick a role**

Open **Role** and pick the one that matches your job.

**4. Read the day**

Home reorders and re-grades at once. Any single change you make after that, such as a section you hide, stays yours.

## Cadences

A cadence sets four things in one pick: the comparison, the sections that lead, the three Intraday tiles, and the Capture tab that opens first. Missed GMV always stays on Intraday.

War room opens Capture on **Boost budgets**. Monthly review opens Capture on **Reconcile budgets**.

### Switch to War room before a sale

When a sale event on your calendar is two days away or closer, Home shows one line under the header that names the event and asks whether to switch this page to War room. Select **Switch to War room** to apply it, or dismiss the line.

## Roles

Your role is the story Home tells, top to bottom. It starts from the role you picked when you set up your workspace. If you never picked one, Home uses Optimize.

| **Plan** | Media planners | Agents calendar, Capture, Intraday, Top movers, Agents activity, Business pulses, Recent chats, Quick access |
| **Orchestrate** | Regional managers | Intraday, Top movers, Capture, Business pulses, Recent chats, Quick access |

Orchestrate leaves out Agents activity and Agents calendar, because run-level detail belongs to each market's team. Add them back in **Sections** if you want them.

## Use it

### Combine a cadence and a role

The two dials are independent. A media lead might run **Steer • Daily check** every morning and **Steer • Monthly review** at month end. Save each one as a view to switch in one click: see [Save a Home view](https://epsilo.ai/docs/home/save-a-home-view.md).

### Bring back a hidden section

Open **Sections** and check it again. Hiding a section never deletes it.
