# Schedule a report

> Send an artifact to email, Slack, a Google Sheet or a chat app on a cadence, rebuilt on fresh data each time.

## Overview

A schedule sends an artifact to where your team already reads, on the cadence you choose. Each send reruns the artifact on current data, so nobody reads a stale number. Use it for the daily spend check, the Monday review or the month end export.

## How it works

**1. Open the artifact**

Open the artifact you want to send and select **Schedule**.

**2. Pick the channel**

In **Send via**, pick where it goes, then the **Recipients** or **Destination**.

**3. Set the cadence**

In **Schedule**, set the time and how often it repeats.

**4. Save**

Select **Save**. The schedule shows as **Ongoing** and on the **Artifact schedules** tab in Automations.

## Use it

### Create a schedule

1. Open an artifact and select **Schedule**. On a first schedule, select **Create your first schedule**.
2. Check the **Artifact** and give the schedule a **Name**.
3. Pick **Send via** and fill in **Recipients** or **Destination**.
4. For email, add a **Subject** and an optional **Note** above the report.
5. Set the **Schedule**, then select **Save**.

### Channels

**Send via** lists these channels:

* **Email**: pick people, **All workspace users**, or type any email address.
* **Slack**: pick a channel.
* **Google Drive**: writes the artifact's tables to a Google Sheet. Shown only for artifacts with tables.
* **Discord**
* **Google Chat**: pick a **Space** or **People**.
* **Lark**: pick a **Group** or **People**.
* **Notion**: paste a database URL or ID.

A channel marked **Not connected** needs a connection first. Select **Connect now**, or set it up in [Connectors and apps](https://epsilo.ai/docs/connect/connectors-and-apps.md).

### Send to a Google Sheet

Choose a spreadsheet, or paste its link, then select or create a tab. Pick **Append** to add rows on each send, or **Overwrite** to replace the tab. Send a test before you schedule, because some charts do not carry rows.

### Set the cadence

New schedules send daily at 09:00, starting today, with no end. Turn **Repeat** off to send once. With **Repeat** on, set **Every** to **Day**, **Week** or **Month**, then the days in **On** or the dates in **On the**. **Run limit** caps the number of sends.

### Use tokens in the subject

Add **Artifact name**, **Workspace name**, **Week number** or **Full date** to the email subject so you can find each send quickly.

### Test before it goes out

In **Preview**, select **Send a test**. For email, choose **Send to me** or **Send to recipients**.

### Pause, duplicate or delete

Use **Pause** and **Resume** on the schedule. Its menu has **Duplicate** and **Delete**.
