# API keys

> Generate an API key so a script or service can call the Epsilo API for your workspace.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Find it in** the workspace menu at the top of the left menu, **Settings** > **API keys**. Reference in **Settings** > **API docs**. **Last updated** 9 Oct 2026.

## Overview

An API key lets your own scripts and services call the Epsilo API. Keys belong to the workspace, not to a person, so they keep working after the person who made them leaves. Owners and admins manage them.

## How it works

**1. You generate a key**

Name it and pick how long it lasts.

**2. You copy it once**

Epsilo shows the key one time. Store it somewhere safe.

**3. Your script sends it**

Each request carries the key in the `Authorization: Bearer` header. **API docs** lists the endpoints.

## Use it

### Generate a key

1. Open **Settings** > **API keys** and select **Generate key**.
2. Enter a **Key name**, for example Reporting pipeline.
3. Pick an **Expiration**: **7 days**, **30 days**, **90 days**, **1 year** or **No expiry**. **30 days** is the default. Shorter is safer.
4. Select **Generate key**.
5. In **Copy your API key**, copy the key and select **Done**. It will not be shown again.

### Revoke a key

On the key, select **Revoke** and confirm. Any script or integration using it stops working immediately. This cannot be undone.

### Read the API reference

Open **Settings** > **API docs**. It covers Auth, Ads and Digital Shelf, with the base URL for each.
